PRIVACY POLICY

Scholarship Whisperer

Effective Date: July 24, 2026

.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Tara Piantanida-Kelly, doing business as Scholarship Whisperer (Scholarship Whisperer, we, us, or our), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit scholarshipwhisperer.com (the Site) or use our products and services, including 1:1 video advising calls, ebooks, mini-courses, and bundled packages (the Services).

By using the Site or Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or Services.

.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form, book a call, subscribe to our email list, or make a purchase, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number

  • Payment and billing information (processed by our payment providers, described in Section 4 — we do not store full card numbers ourselves)

  • Information you choose to share with us during a 1:1 advising call or in an intake form, which may include details about your family's college and financial-aid situation

Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Usage data such as pages viewed, time on page, referring URLs, and general location (city/region level) inferred from your IP address

  • Device and browser information

Cookies and tracking pixels. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies, including the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, to understand how visitors use the Site and to show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram based on your activity on our Site. See Section 5 for more detail and how to control this.

.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Site and our Services

  • Process bookings, payments, and orders for calls, ebooks, courses, and packages

  • Communicate with you, including responding to questions and sending service-related messages

  • Send you newsletters, tips, and promotional emails if you've opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)

  • Personalize and measure the performance of our advertising, including on Facebook and Instagram

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not use anything you share with us on a 1:1 advising call for advertising or marketing purposes.

.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share information with the following categories of service providers, only as needed for them to perform services on our behalf:

  • Payment processing: Stripe (for 1:1 call bookings) and SamCart (for ebooks, courses, and packages)

  • Email marketing: Mailchimp, to send newsletters and communications you've opted into

  • Scheduling and call hosting: Square, to schedule and host 1:1 advising calls

  • Advertising: Meta (Facebook/Instagram), via the Meta Pixel, for ad measurement and retargeting

We may also share information:

  • For legal reasons — if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Scholarship Whisperer, our users, or others

  • In a business transfer — if we sell, merge, or transfer part or all of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under California law, our use of advertising pixels like the Meta Pixel may be considered sharing your information for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands. See Section 8 for how to opt out.

.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use them, along with pixels like the Meta Pixel, to:

  • Remember your preferences and keep the Site functioning properly

  • Understand how visitors use the Site (analytics)

  • Show you relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram and measure how well those ads perform

You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or alert you when a cookie is being set. If you block cookies, some parts of the Site may not work as intended. You can also manage how Facebook uses your data for ads through your Facebook ad preferences settings.

.

6. Information Shared During 1:1 Calls

During 1:1 advising calls, you may choose to share sensitive information about your family's finances (such as income, assets, or financial aid award details) so we can give you relevant guidance. This information is discussed verbally as part of the call and is not entered into a marketing database, used for advertising, or sold or shared with third parties. We recommend not sharing more detail than necessary for our advising conversation, and never sharing full account numbers, passwords, or Social Security numbers with us.

.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our Services, maintain business and tax records, and comply with legal obligations — there is no fixed deletion schedule. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 8), and we will do so unless we're required or permitted by law to retain it.

.

8. Your Privacy Rights

All users. Regardless of where you live, you can contact us at any time to:

  • Ask what personal information we have about you

  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (where applicable) share, and why

  • Delete personal information we've collected from you, subject to certain exceptions

  • Correct inaccurate personal information

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — as noted in Section 4, our use of the Meta Pixel for ad retargeting may be considered sharing under California law

  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your privacy rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at tarapk@scholarshipwhisperer.com. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site and Services are not directed at, and are not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

.

10. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites or resources (for example, studentaid.gov or other financial aid resources) that we don't own or control. This Policy doesn't apply to those third-party sites, and we're not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, and rely on reputable, security-conscious service providers (Stripe, SamCart, Mailchimp, Square, Meta) to help protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We'll post any changes on this page and update the Effective Date above. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
